Global Intergenerational Week
Gen-All is Your England Lead for #GIW 2026

Bridging the gap between ages, building a stronger England
We are thrilled to announce that Gen-All has been appointed the official England Lead for Global Intergenerational Week 2026. From April 24th to April 30th, we will join over 15 countries worldwide to celebrate the power of intergenerational connections and the magic that happens when different ages come together.
What is Global Intergenerational Week?
Global Intergenerational Week is an annual campaign that highlights the importance of relationships between different age groups. It’s about more than just "being nice" across generations. Now in its sixth year, Global Intergenerational Week (GIW) continues to champion and celebrate meaningful connections between generations across the world. It's about:

Reducing Loneliness
Breaking social isolation for both the young and the old.
Community Resilience
Building neighbourhoods where everyone feels they belong, regardless of their birth year.
Challenging Ageism
Overcoming stereotypes that limit the potential of people at every stage of life.
Our Role as the England Lead

As the lead organisation for England, Gen-All acts as the central hub for the campaign on home soil. Our mission this year is to make 2026 the most impactful year yet by:

-
Amplifying Voices - using our platform to showcase brilliant intergenerational projects across England.
-
Resource Hub - providing event ideas and social media assets to help you get started.
-
Advocacy - highlighting the benefits of intergenerational practice to policymakers and local government.

Global Word Cloud

This Global Intergenerational Week (24 - 30 April 2026), Gen-All invites you to take part in a simple global action with powerful meaning.
Each day during the week you can contribute one word connected to the daily theme and watch our international word cloud grow.

How to take part:
-
Scan the QR code
-
Submit one word linked to the daily theme
-
Watch the global word cloud build in real time
Every word becomes part of a shared international picture - a collective voice showing what intergenerational connection means across the world.
At the end of the week, all seven daily word clouds will be combined to create the final GIW26 Global Word Cloud - a lasting visual capturing the spirit, values and hopes of our worldwide intergenerational community.

This activity is open to people of all ages, sectors and countries.

One word can represent hope.
One word can challenge ageism.
One word can express solidarity.
